Cheeky Pine Marten at the bird table
Wildlife at Muirlaggan includes deer, both Red and Roe, grazing the fields around the cottages; pine martens raiding our bird table; the elusive otter playing in the loch close to our shore ; red squirrels and pheasant, buzzard, eagles, a barn owl and the occasional osprey flying above.

Those who choose to have a lie in will miss the early morning deer which come down from the hill at night and can be seen in the gloom of the morning from late summer through to late spring. Sometimes there are more than twenty in the herd. Keep an eye out for them in your headlights if you approach the farm house in the dark, they are shy and won't stay around for long.
